I am pleased to finally offer one of my most popular paintings in print form. The original acrylic painting was created in 2009 and is 15x45" long. This is a collection of different outfits worn back our favorite Time Traveller, Marty McFly in the Back To The Future Trilogy. Instead of humans wearing the clothes, I have chosen to dress up a common House Finch.

Beginning with his persona from 1885, "Eastwood, Clint Eastwood". Then moving into 1955 dressed as what can be described as an atomic cowboy, then into the Radiation suit, or otherwise known as, Lord Vader from the planet Vulcan!. Then to the iconic 1985 Marty Mcfly look complete with maroon Puffer sleeveless jacket and denim underneath. I can't help but hear the song, "the Power of Love" when I see this outfit. Lastly, Marty is pictured in clothes from the future, which would be the year 2015, disguised as his son.

I loved these movies and this piece is absolutely one of my favorite creations i have made as an artist. It is a subject that either people get or they don't. If you loved 'Back to the Future', then this would be a great print to have in your collection. If you have a friend that you know loves the franchise, then this may be a great present for them. Its also fun to have people try to guess who these birds are dressed as and see the chuckles when they figure it out.

This 11x17 digital print is on 90lb card stock. It will be shipped flat in a protective sheet. The image is 5.5 x 16.5 , which will help your framer if you choose to have the print matted and framed.

I am busy in my studio getting prepared for 3 shows.

In December, Tramp Lamps will be on display at Austin Peay in Clarksville in the Alumni Gallery. This is a lovely invitation from my former professors at what was a great liberal art college & undergraduate experience. I graduated in 1996 with a degree in Theater & Art.

I will be part of the November Art Crawl in the Arcade with Twist Galleries. The Art Crawl is the first Saturday of each month and I have always wanted to show my work in that historic space, so I am very Excited to be a part.

But First up will be a return to one of my favorite Local places to show my artwork: Hot & Cold located in Hillsboro Village right next to Fido. I had a show earlier this year there and it was a huge success. I have been asked back and I couldn’t be more happy to hang my paintings upon their walls. Look for my work there in the month of October.

I am also a vendor at this year's Geek Media Expo, October 21-23 at the Maxwell House hotel in Nashville, TN. More on all these upcoming events as they draw near.

The Gaggle v Murder Squabble

This is my newest painting. I am slowly converting Paul, my late husband's office into a romp room so my son and i can play and hangout. It seems to be evolving into something we do on Sunday mornings. He asks if we can go upstairs wherein we play vintage Sega and Nintendo games. Paul always had all the Sega and I the Nintendo. They all still work great and we have a lot of fun playing all of them. There are some old Mortal Kombat in our collection as well as Street Fighter. These games got me thinking bout other fighting scenarios for games. and this naturally made perfect sense to me to have geese and Crows have it out in a 4 man team style fight. or in this case a squabble. Who will win? Rather, Who should win? This painting is available in my Etsy Shop for Sale Now.

My new collection of Star Wars Paintings is now showing through the month of March 2011 at Hot & Cold in Hillsboro Village. Hot & Cold is part of the Bonjo Java local collective in Nashville. I am so happy to be a part of the ambience.

The crew at Hot & Cold were so great to me as I hung these works up today. And I sold a piece before I was finished setting up. A nice way to finish the install. I will try to get more up throughout the next few weeks as they sell and I can rotate in some new work. Wish me luck!

My fist solo exhibit of new paintings opens November 29th at the Belcourt Theater in the Lobby. The opening reception is 5-6:30 on the 29th. All work will be for sale and the prices are low, which will make for great one of a kind Holiday Gift giving. Please come out and see my work. It will be on the walls until December 27th. Belcourt Theater is such a great place to show the work i have been producing since most of my subjects are characters from films. I am so excited to be showing my work and look forward to seeing you at the opening reception!

Whoa! I am in the midst of making so many new paintings as i eagerly await the opening of my first ever solo art exhibit in Nashville of my recent work. Making Tramp Lamps for so many years has been great, and i will continue to create them, but getting to paint, which was one of my first true forms of expression is feeling so amazing right now. I am sure i will know the exact dates of the exhibit in the next week or so.

Dino Pink Jewelry Box

This is a upcycled/ recycled pink jewelry box that has had its music removed because it was crazy broken and needed a dinosaur and plastic jewels on it instead. It has bumps and bruises on it that you can see in the pictures. The mirror inside is plastic and has scrapes on it from the broken music box rotating mechanism that was headless and sharp ouchy metal. The interior is lined in green felt as it came. I used epoxy to attach the beads , buttons and plastic DIno. Box Measures 3.5x 4.25 x 6"

Morning Mister Beaver!

Its another beautiful Day in the forest.
Approximately 11x6.5 inches wide by 1.25 inches thick
Vintage recycled lacquered tree disc landscape wall hanging with plastic beaver drinking coffee mounted to it.

I thought this beaver belonged here -ready to dam up another lake.

The writing on the back came on the piece when i acquired it.

This is a real tree slice.

A Physical Elegy Of Mace Windu

This Vintage Decoupage wall hanging of Yellow Roses seemed like an ideal Bed to lay this fallen hero upon. This Mace Windu figurine was purchased at a thrift store, as was the wall plaque.

This ominous wall hanging is crafted from a recycled vintage lacquered floral plaque with yellow roses. I have mounted Jedi Master Mace Windu to this 8 x 8 inch Octagon of pain. He is in his most desperate moment, as you can see in his face. His hands are clasped, but they can be set free if you choose. the plaque itself is approximately 1 inch thick. Mace adds to the overall dimension another inch.
There is a textured gold relief border on all sides.
The lacquer is crackled - most likely due to the age of the plaque.
You can hang it from the metal hoop at the top or from the mounting teeth on the back.

Wikipiedia puts it best:
-When series creator George Lucas offered Samuel L. Jackson the role of Mace Windu, Jackson signed on, but with certain stipulations on the portrayal of his character. One of the conditions was that his character die in a spectacular death, rather than be killed off "like some punk."

I hope that this is a testament to Sam's wishes.

A Vulgar Display of a Square Composition

I found this square canvas dirt cheap on clearance at wal-mart last summer. Square composition is a difficult space to work in traditionally. You will find rectangles to be the preferred shape most painters want to work in. Squares work well for abstract art and geometric themes, but rarely will you see a descriptive subject presented in this, what some have called Vulgar composition. So here is a narrative retort.
